Tuen Mun food premises ordered to suspend business

     The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Tuen Mun to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

     "The food premises ('³Ó°O'), at Shop No. 20, ground floor, Market, Glorious Garden, 45 Lung Mun Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (November 27) to December 10," a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

     "In April and September this year, there were two convictions in respect of improper storage of open food.

     "A total fine of $3,500 was levied and 15 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.

     He said the food premises also had convictions in respect of unauthorised alteration, failing to store food properly and illegal use of open space in February and April this year.

     "A total fine of $4,500 was levied and 15 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from June 22 to 28," the spokesman said.

     He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
