The Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, will leave Hong Kong tomorrow (November 24) for a week-long visit to Seoul and Tokyo.
Mr Lee will meet his South Korean and Japanese counterparts to update them on the latest developments in Hong Kong, in particular the law and order situation. He will also exchange views with them on issues of common concern.
In Seoul, Mr Lee will meet senior South Korean officials including the Minister of Public Administration and Security, Mr Won Sei-hoon, and the Commissioner of the Korea Immigration Service, Mr Choo Kyu-ho. He will also visit the National Institute of Scientific Investigation in Gimpo.
While in Tokyo, Mr Lee will call on the Vice-Minister of Justice, Mr Hiroshi Ozu, and the Chairman of the National Public Safety Commission and Minister of State for Okinawa and Northern Territories Affairs and Disaster Management, Mr Tsutomu Sato. He will also visit the Fire and Disaster Management Agency and the National Police Academy of the National Police Agency.
Mr Lee will return to Hong Kong on December 1.
