The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (November 7) that the heated main pool of Shing Mun Valley Swimming Pool has been temporarily closed for cleaning and superchlorination following the discovery of a small amount of faeces.
As the heated main pool is the only pool open at Shing Mun Valley Swimming Pool since November 1, the venue is now temporarily closed.
Since there will be swimming competitions held at the swimming pool on Saturday and Sunday, the swimming pool will be reopened for public use at 6.30am on November 10 (Monday).
The department appeals to swimmers to be considerate and to keep our swimming pools clean. They are advised not to swim after a full meal and should use the toilet facilities if necessary before swimming.
