¡@¡@Duggan Dance Company from Argentina will in December take Hong Kong audiences on a fascinating toy train journey into a fantasy world accompanied by delightful music, dance and juggling.
¡@¡@Created and directed by Teresa Duggan, the scenes from "Steam Away" take place in remote and magical railway stations. Duggan has chosen delightful musical pieces, such as excerpts from¡§Swan Lake¡¨,¡§Carmen¡¨, Mozart¡¦s ¡§21 concert¡¨, Strauss¡¦ waltzes and Japanese drums to accompany the characters during this beautiful, poetical journey.
¡@¡@Guided by the goddess of the moon, the little train traverses invented cities and places that have been held back in time.
¡@¡@¡§Imaginaciˆun Atrapada¡¨, Argentina, commented:¡§A small train takes us through a world full of fantasy, that reminds us a little of ¡¥Chihiro¡¦s Journey¡¦. In each station we will be in contact with a new world where incredible things will happen¡K¡¨Monica Berman, a theatre critic, said that ¡¨the dancers seem to have wings on their feet, with bodies as flexible as plants, moving through the air as if their bodies produced no resistance¡K helping children get closer to that special world of dance and putting them in contact with music that is worth hearing and that is not heard in many places.¡¨
¡@¡@The Duggan Dance Company was founded in 1985, and its members are dancers, actors and circus performers. Their works, using a combination of languages and resources, manipulate objects, space, lighting, humour and poetry to create fantastic and dream-like atmospheres that stimulate the audience¡¦s imagination. With more than 30 creations of diverse styles, the company has performed in theatres and festivals in Argentina, Europe and Latin America.
