The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) today (October 31) announced details of winter lifeguard services at its 32 gazetted beaches.
The lifeguard services at four beaches in Southern District - Repulse Bay Beach, Middle Bay Beach, Stanley Main Beach and Big Wave Bay Beach - will be provided from 9am to 6pm daily next month (November) and in March, 2009.
At Deep Water Bay Beach, the lifeguard services will be maintained from 9am to 6pm every day from November 1-30 and from March 1-31, 2009, and from 8am to 5pm every day from December 1, 2008 to February 28, 2009.
At Clear Water Bay Second Beach and Silverstrand Beach in Sai Kung District, and Golden Beach in Tuen Mun District, lifeguard services will continue from 8am to 5pm daily from tomorrow (November 1) to March 31, 2009.
The LCSD's lifeguard services at the remaining five beaches in Southern District and 19 other beaches in the New Territories will be suspended from tomorrow to March 31, 2009. The five beaches in Southern District are South Bay Beach, Chung Hom Kok Beach, St. Stephen's Beach, Shek O Beach and Turtle Cove Beach. The 19 beaches in the New Territories are Trio Beach, Kiu Tsui Beach, Hap Mun Bay Beach, Clear Water Bay First Beach, Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach, Butterfly Beach, Castle Peak Beach, Kadoorie Beach, Cafeteria Old Beach, Cafeteria New Beach, Hung Shing Yeh Beach, Lo So Shing Beach, Kwun Yam Beach, Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach, Silver Mine Bay Beach, Pui O Beach, Upper Cheung Sha Beach, Lower Cheung Sha Beach and Tong Fuk Beach.
