The Transport Advisory Committee (TAC) was briefed today (October 30) on the Government's proposed pedestrian schemes in three selected areas, Causeway Bay, Mong Kok and Yuen Long Town.
TAC Chairman Ms Teresa Cheng Yeuk-wah said, "Members note that the focus of the proposed schemes will be on improving the pedestrian environment in business districts, shopping centres and leisure areas with heavy pedestrian flows. TAC welcomed the proposed schemes which aim at minimising vehicle-pedestrian conflicts and improving roadside air quality."
"We also note that the relevant departments will commission studies to examine the proposals in detail and conduct public consultation afterwards," she said.
