The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant, at Shop No 15, ground floor, Fu Loy Garden, Ma Wang Road, Yuen Long Town Lot 427, was ordered to suspend business from today (October 28) to November 10, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
"In May this year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the premises.
"A total fine of $8,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.
He said the food premises also had two convictions in February and April respectively this year for the same offence.
"A total fine of $5,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from July 14 to 20 this year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
