The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mrs Rita Lau, led a business delegation to attend the "Sichuan Conference on International Matchmaking for the Reconstruction Projects" in Chengdu today (October 26).
During the conference, participants learnt about the overall plan and preferential policies for Sichuan's reconstruction projects. Many of the projects require strategic partners both in terms of capital investment and marketing expertise. Such projects ranged from agricultual products exportation, manufacturing to tourism promotion.
Mrs Lau and the delegation will also take part in the 9th Western China International Economy and Trade Fair tomorrow.
Today they visited the Chengdu Research Base for Giant Panda which is one of Chengdu's tourism attractions.
They also visited the hi-tech industrial zone yesterday to explore potential of business cooperation.
