The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, presented honours and awards to 253 recipients at the annual ceremony at Government House today (October 25).
Among the recipients, four received the Grand Bauhinia Medal, eight the Gold Bauhinia Star, two the Medal for Bravery (Gold) (posthumous) (received by the family member of recipients), 23 the Silver Bauhinia Star, six the Distinguished Service Medal for Disciplined Services and the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), 43 the Bronze Bauhinia Star and one the Medal for Bravery (Bronze).
Meanwhile, 45 people were awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for Disciplined Services and the ICAC, 71 the Medal of Honour, 34 the Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Service and 16 the Chief Executive's Commendation for Government/Public Service.
The 2008 Honours List was issued earlier on July 1.
