Exhibition to showcase Land Registry's achievements (with photos)

     The Land Registry will stage an exhibition at Queensway Government Offices from October 28 to November 4 as part of its 15th anniversary celebration to showcase its achievements and new initiatives. Exhibits of old land records will also go on display.

     At the exhibition, visitors can learn more about the Land Registry's history, as well as major service upgrades and achievements since its establishment as a trading fund department, including various computerisation projects and the existing Integrated Registration Information System (IRIS).

     The exhibition will feature other new initiatives, such as title registration, the launch of a new search system in 2010 and a study on using new technology to make capturing of data on memorial forms easy.

     Apart from panel displays, historic documents will be showcased, including the original New Territories Land Register (First Generation) and Government Leases with terms of 999 years, as well as copies of the Japanese Memorial and Deed and the old Memorials.

     Online searches of properties through IRIS will also be demonstrated.

     The exhibition will open daily from 9am to 5.30pm between October 28 and November 4 on the Deck Floor, High Block, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway. Admission is free. For more details, visit www.landreg.gov.hk.
