The Managing World Cities: Hong Kong-London-New York Conference began today (October 23). The three-day conference is co-organised by the Central Policy Unit (CPU), the University of Hong Kong, King's College London and New York University.
The aim of the conference is to explore how world cities like New York, London, and Hong Kong are managed as well as their common challenges and opportunities as world cities.
The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, the Council Chairman of the University of Hong Kong, Dr Victor K Fung, and other distinguished overseas scholars addressed various aspects of the theme when the conference was opened today.
During the three-day conference, about 200 participants, including local and international academics, business and community leaders, senior executives and professionals, think tanks and government officials, will examine and exchange views on the management of world cities in various policy areas.
