The Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (Cyberport) announced today (October 22) that the Cyberport Venture Capital Forum 2008 (CVCF 2008) would be held on November 18 (Tuesday).  The theme is to show ways to be creative in business in an unexpected or unusual way.  CVCF had been held with great success for four times from 2004 through 2007 and CVCF 2008 will continue to be a well anticipated forum for investors, entrepreneurs and senior executives in the information and communications technology (ICT), media and creative industries to develop and build novel ¡§contrarian¡¨ companies that could change the dynamics of doing business.

The world has seen cases of disruptive innovation where entrepreneurial founders of companies had taken great risk to do utterly different things and, by doing so, had changed the gestalt of their industry sectors and transformed the world at the same time.  In addition to learning how successful entrepreneurs come out of ¡§nowhere¡¨ to create promising returns, participants of CVCF 2008 can meet international venture capitalists, potential investors and like-minded entrepreneurs, join the concurrent exhibition showcasing the creativity from ICT and local communities, and encounter local inventors, young designers and new digital entertainment start-ups.
