
Government welcomes Taiwan's approval for setting up of TDC branch office

A spokesman for the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau today (October 16) welcomes the decision by the Taiwanese authorities to approve the Trade Development Council¡¦s application to set up a branch office in Taipei.
The spokesman said: "Taiwan is Hong Kong's fourth largest trading partner. Over the past years, the Government has been working to promote trade and economic cooperation between the two places."
"We believe that the office would be conducive to the development of closer trade and economic ties between Hong Kong and Taiwan and create more business opportunities for both sides." the spokesman added.
