The following statement is issued on behalf of the Chairman of the Committee on Review of Post-Service Outside Work for Directorate Civil Servants, Mr Ronald Arculli:
The independent Committee on Review of Post-Service Outside Work for Directorate Civil Servants held its first meeting today (October 8) and decided on, among others, its work plan.
In the coming three months, the Committee will review the existing policy and arrangements governing post-service outside work for directorate civil servants and study practices in selected overseas governments.
The Committee aims to issue a public consultation document around January 2009, followed by a public consultation ending around end March 2009 during which there will be public forums and meetings. The Committee will study and deliberate on the views received and prepare a report on findings and recommendations for submission to the Chief Executive around June 2009.
Meanwhile, members of the public or relevant stakeholders who have any views at this stage may send in their submissions in writing to the Secretariat of the Committee by:
