The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
To maintain sufficient blood supply to meet increasing demand, the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) plans to open a new blood donor centre in the densely populated Kowloon East region. The new centre, located at unit 2301, 23/F, Millennium City 5, 418 Kwun Tong Road (above the apm), has new interior design and entertainment facilities to provide enhanced service to blood donors.
The new blood donor centre will commence service on September 26, 2008. To celebrate the opening, donors at this new centre during the opening period will be presented with a limited edition ¡§Gasiapon Blood Boy¡¨ (see photo attached) while stocks last. The public is most welcome to visit the centre and give blood while they are shopping at the apm or around the neighbourhood.
Members of the public aged 16-65, weighing over 41kg and healthy are eligible to be blood donors. For the address and service hours of blood donor centres or blood donation enquiries, please call the BTS hotline at 2710 1234 or visit the website at www.ha.org.hk/rcbts.
