Government follows up requests for assistance from HK residents affected by fire in Longgang, Shenzhen

Referring to a fire that broke out at a club located in Longgang, Shenzhen last night (September 20), a Government spokesman said that up to 11 am today (September 21), the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government had received three requests for assistance.

While one Hong Kong resident is reported to be injured in one case, two Hong Kong residents are reported to have lost contact with their families in the other two cases.

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO) has sent officers to hospitals concerned for follow up action. Meanwhile the Immigration Department will closely liaise with the GDETO to render all practical assistance to any Hong Kong residents who need help.
