The Chief Executive of the Hospital Authority (HA), Mr Shane Solomon, expresses deep regret and concern over the sentinel event announced by the North District Hospital today (September 19). Mr Solomon extends his apologies to the affected patient and her family.
ˇ§The patient has been reassured that best possible care and treatment would be provided in the follow-up management of her clinical as well as psychological condition,ˇ¨Mr Solomon said.
ˇ§I have already instructed the hospital management to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the incident and to come up with remedial recommendations in six to eight weeks. The final report will be submitted to the HA Head Office and also explained to the affected patient and her family.ˇ¨
