The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, today (September 19) issued the following statement on Mrs Selina Chow's resignation from the Executive Council (ExCo):
"Mrs Selina Chow informed me early last week of her wish to resign from the ExCo. I have considered it seriously and have accepted her resignation today.
Since joining ExCo in September 2003, Mrs Chow has never failed us in offering wise counsel to the Government. On behalf of all ExCo members and the Government, I thank Mrs Chow for her signal contributions to ExCo's work. Colleagues and I will dearly miss the candour, creativity and vigour she has always brought to the ExCo. Her passion and dedication in serving Hong Kong will long be remembered. I wish her all the best in the future."
