In response to media enquiries on Lehman Brothers' filing for bankruptcy in the US, a spokesman for the Financial Secretary's office said,
"Regarding Lehman Brothers' filing for bankruptcy in the US, the HKSAR Government, Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Securities and Futures Commission and the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited have been in close contact today and will monitor developments closely. Market regulators will ensure trading at the Hong Kong stock market will be conducted in an orderly manner tomorrow."
