San Po Kong restaurant ordered to suspend business
**************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in San Po Kong to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant, at Shop Nos. 20-22, ground floor, Hong Keung Building, 32-34 Hong Keung Street, was ordered to suspend business from today (September 15) to September 28, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

"In April and June this year, there were two convictions in respect of preparing food in open space and unauthorised extension of food business at the food premises.

"A total fine of $5,300 was levied and 15 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.

He said the restaurant also had two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business in October last year.

"A total fine of $4,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from December 26 last year to January 1 this year," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
