The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene Department has ordered a restaurant in San Po Kong to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant, at ground floor, 40 Shung Ling Street, San Po Kong, was ordered to suspend business from today (September 10) to September 23, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
"In May and June this year, there were two convictions in respect of failing to cover food properly and illegal extension of food business at the food premises.
"A total fine of $3,800 was levied and 15 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.
He said the food premises also had two convictions in May and October last year, in respect of preparing food in open space and illegal extension of food business.
"A total fine of $3,300 was levied and 15 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from April 15 to 21 this year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
