In response to media enquiries about the follow-up with the supplier on the distribution of oysters, a spokesman for the Centre for Food Safety (CFS) said today (September 9):
“Of the some 320 boxes of oysters we followed up with the supplier (Pearlwin Limited) yesterday, we understand from the company that about 150 had been exported. The remaining some 170 boxes are believed to have been distributed through the following three distributors: ‘中環肉類食品有限公司’, ‘金日本食品公司’ and ‘明邦(香港)有限公司’. The CFS is tracing their retail outlets. We have informed the trade of the latest development and appealed to them to stop selling oysters supplied by these distributors.”
