CE congratulates HK team on winning three medals in Paralympic Games

     The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, congratulated the Hong Kong delegation to the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing for winning a total of three medals in today's (September 9) competition.

     Hong Kong boccia athletes Kwok Hoi-ying won a gold medal in one category of the Mixed Individual event, while Leung Yuk-wing captured a silver medal in a different category of the Mixed Individual event this afternoon. So Wa-wai also won a bronze medal in the men's 100 metres held this morning.

     Mr Tsang said he took pride in the achievements of the HK delegation and their creditable performances in a competition of the highest standard. "I hope that all Hong Kong athletes would do their best and excel in the rest of the Games," Mr Tsang said.

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, also extended his congratulations to the delegation. "Today's remarkable achievement is the result of the unremitting efforts over the years of our athletes. We are all proud of their outstanding performances."
