Attention TV and radio duty announcers. Please broadcast the following special announcement immediately, and repeat it at frequent intervals:
The Electoral Affairs Commission announced that as the poll for the Legislative Council election was interrupted respectively for 25 minutes and 7 minutes by power failures earlier today (September 7) at the polling stations at Buddhist Chung Wah Kornhill Primary School (C2701) in Quarry Bay and TWGHs Lee Chi Hung Memorial Primary School (C1001) in Chai Wan, the polling hours for these two polling stations will be extended for 25 minutes and 7 minutes respectively for those affected electors to cast their votes.
The polling hours for Buddhist Chung Wah Kornhill Primary School station will end at 10.55pm, while the polling hours for TWGHs Lee Chi Hung Memorial Primary School will end at 10.37pm.
According to section 5(g) of the Electoral Affairs Commission Ordinance, the Commission may do such other incidental act or thing or exercise such powers as it considers necessary or expedient for the performance of its functions under this or any other Ordinance.
