Service extension for Commandant of Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force

     The Government today (September 5) announced the approval of a two-year extension of the service of Mr Arthur Kwok Chi-shun as Commandant of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) up to September 2010.

     A Government spokesman said, "Mr Kwok has led the HKAPF with excellence.  He is deeply committed to the HKAPF and enjoys the loyalty and respect of its members.  The extension of service for Mr Kwok as Commandant to September 2010 will allow the Auxiliary Police to continue to benefit from his leadership during a period of reform and challenges in the Auxiliary Police."

     Mr Kwok joined the HKAPF in June 1977, and was promoted to Commandant in January 2001.
