The Postmaster General, Mr Tam Wing-pong, today (September 3)announced the stamp issuing programme for 2009 and the launch of the 2009 Local Standing Order Service (LSOS). Starting from January 2009 with the Year of the Ox Lunar New Year special stamps, stamp issues covering a wide range of topics will be released throughout the year. Details are on the fact sheet at Appendix 1.
The stamp designs were vetted by the Stamp Advisory Committee in a series of four meetings through 2007-08. The final choices for 2009 were selected from among 112 different stamp themes and 94 initial stamp designs, with the final approval by the Secretary for Home Affairs.
Advance ordering for 2009 stamp issues will also be available from today through the 2009 Local Standing Order Service. Various incentive programmes will be available for orders received from today to September 30.
Advance orders for the 2009 stamp issues can be placed from today at any post office or through StampOnNet, Hongkong Postˇ¦s online ordering service. Participating philatelists will enjoy some unique incentive programmes via The Early Bird Bonus Scheme, Member Reward Scheme, The Young Collectorˇ¦s Bonus Scheme and Member-Get-Member Reward Scheme, to name but a few. And various payment options make ordering simple and collecting easy so that customers can enjoy their hobby to the fullest extent. Details are on the fact sheet at Appendix 2.
