Many a little makes a mickle! Donations from different sectors of the community to the "Trust Fund in Support of the Reconstruction in the Sichuan Earthquake Stricken Areas" are vital to rebuilding the quake-stricken areas in Sichuan.
The Home Affairs Department made this appeal in response to media enquiries today (September 2).
"So far, about $7 million has been raised for rebuilding Sichuan since the establishment of the trust fund on July 18," a spokesman for HAD said. "As post-quake reconstruction is a colossal task lasting for at least several years, we appeal to Hong Kong people to continue to donate money generously."
For cheque donations:

* Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd. (HSBC) account number "004-808-424154-001"; or

Cheques should be made payable to "SHAI – Donations for Sichuan Reconstruction".
The "Trust Fund in Support of the Reconstruction in the Sichuan Earthquake Stricken Areas" is set up under the Secretary for Home Affairs Incorporated Ordinance to receive public donations.
