The Financial Secretary has appointed Mr Malcolm Antony Barnett and Ms Susan Wong as members to the Market Misconduct Tribunal, under the authority delegated by the Chief Executive, for proceedings in relation to possible market misconduct in the listed securities of Mobicon Group Limited in 2004.
Appointment of the two members was made pursuant to section 251(2) of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Cap. 571) and sections 4 and 5 of Schedule 9 to the Ordinance.
Mr Barnett is a legal consultant and company director. Ms Wong is a practising solicitor and a consultant of Messrs Edward Ko & Company. They are familiar with the operation of Hong Kong's financial markets.
They will sit on the tribunal under the chairmanship of Mr Justice Lunn, Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court.
Mr Justice Lunn's current term of office as Chairman of Market Misconduct Tribunal expired at the end of August. The Chief Executive has re-appointed Mr Justice Lunn for three years from August 31 under section 2 of Schedule 9 to the Ordinance.
The hearing has been fixed to begin at 9.30am on Monday, October 13, with dates reserved until November 7, at the Market Misconduct Tribunal in Room 702, Tower Two, Lippo Centre, 89 Queensway, Hong Kong.
