     The Northwest Gale or Storm Signal no. 8 is still in force. Nuri is expected to be rather close to Hong Kong this afternoon and tonight, and a higher storm signal may be issued shortly.

     All ferry, tram and peak tram services and most bus services have been suspended since 10 am. MTRC services are maintained at 10-minute intervals. Cathay Pacific and Dragonair announced that all flights will be suspended from around 2 pm.

     As at 12 noon, 188 passenger flights have been cancelled or delayed while six flights were diverted. For cargo flights, 22 have been cancelled or delayed.

     As at 12.30 am, 151 people have sought refuge at 20 temporary shelters of the Home Affairs Department.

     As at 11.30 am, a total of one man and seven women, aged between 15 to 59, have sought treatment at Accident and Emergency Departments at public hospitals because of typhoon. One female was admitted into hospital and she was in stable condition.

     At 12.45 pm, the Regional Tree and Landscape Sections of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department has received 17 requests for emergency assistance concerning fallen trees and trunks on roadside. There were eight requests in Hong Kong region, four requests in Kowloon region and five requests in the New Territories region.

     Four reports of dangerous sign and one report of fallen external wall have been received by the Buildings Department as at 12 noon.

     No report of flooding or landslide has been received.
