Tai Po no. 4 alarm fire roundup

The No.4 alarm fire in Tai Po was extinguished at 1.38am today (August 19).
The fire occurred at 8.53pm yesterday (August 18) at a recycling factory located on Dai Kwai Street in Tai Po Industrial Estate. The affected area measures about 60 metres x 40 metres. It was upgraded to No. 3 alarm at 9.05pm and No. 4 at 10pm. It was surrounded at 11.05pm and under control at 12.34am today.
During the operation, firemen mobilised 16 jets and five breathing apparatus teams to fight the blaze. Seventeen people were evacuated and there were no reports of casualties.
Initial report showed that the cause of the fire was not suspicious.
