More than 300 disciplined staff of the Immigration Department were today (August 15) awarded Hong Kong Immigration Service Long Service Medals and Clasps. Another 20 disciplined staff received Assistant Directors¡¦ Commendation Certificates.
The awards were presented at Immigration Headquarters today by Director of Immigration Mr Peh Yun-lu.
Mr Peh expressed his appreciation to award recipients who had dedicated long years of loyal service to the department, displaying exemplary performance.
The award of the Hong Kong Immigration Service Long Service Medals and Clasps was to honour those with exemplary character and conduct who had rendered long and meritorious service as members of the Immigration Service.
Principal Immigration Officer (Harbour) Mr Sham Hi-keung and 16 other officers were awarded the third clasps to their medals for 33 years of service with the department.
The second clasps, signifying 30 years of service, were presented to Acting Assistant Director (Information System) Mrs Kwan Chan Suet-mui and 27 other officers.
Assistant Director (Visa Policy) Ms Helen Chan Wing-mui and Assistant Director (Enforcement and Liaison) Mr Chan Kwok-ki and 120 other officers received the first clasps, marking 25 years of service.
A total of 139 other officers received the Hong Kong Immigration Long Service Medals which marked 18 years of service.
During the ceremony, 20 other officers were also awarded the Assistant Directors¡¦ commendation for outstanding performance.
