The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene Department has ordered a restaurant in Tsuen Wan to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The restaurant, at ground floor, No 6 and 8 Sam Pei Square, Tsuen Wan, was ordered to suspend business from today (August 6) to August 19, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
"In February and May this year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the food premises.
"A total fine of $4,700 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.
He said the food premises also had convictions in October last year and January this year for the same offence.
"A total fine of $3,800 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from March 21-27 this year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
