The Permanent Secretary for Education, Mr Raymond Wong, today (August 4) visited the Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing Secondary Six Joint Admission Centre and was briefed on the operation of the centre.

Mr Wong congratulated students who had attained good results in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) and encouraged those who got less satisfactory results to look for other opportunities.

He said: "The HKCEE is but one stage in their learning process. Apart from enrolling in the matriculation course, Form Five graduates could also opt for vocational training or sub-degree programmes."

Mr Wong reminded students that they could visit the Information Expo for Secondary School Leavers organised by the Education Bureau in the China Resources Building, Wan Chai, to get information on further studies. They could also refer to the careers guidance handbook published by the bureau earlier or call the bureau's Careers Guidance Services hotline.

He also thanked the school principals of Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing districts for offering one-stop service to allow students to file applications with schools, get interviews and complete registration at the centre.
