CE to attend Hong Kong/Guangdong Co-operation Joint Conference

     The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will lead a delegation to attend the 11th Plenary of the Hong Kong/Guangdong Co-operation Joint Conference in Guangzhou on August 5.

     Mr Tsang and the Governor of Guangdong Province, Mr Huang Huahua, will jointly preside over the meeting and will meet the media afterwards.

     The Chief Executive will also visit the Guangzhou Science City.

     The delegation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government includes the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang; the Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen; the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam; the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung; the Secretary for the Environment, Mr Edward Yau; the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Ms Eva Cheng; the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mrs Rita Lau; and the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr Norman Chan.

     The Chief Executive will leave for Guangzhou on August 4 and return to Hong Kong on August 5. During the absence of Mr Tsang and Mr Tang, the Secretary for Justice, Mr Wong Yan-lung, will be the Acting Chief Executive; while the Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee will be the Acting Chief Secretary for Administration.
