Ms Doris Cheung, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco, was presented a copy of the "San Francisco Torch Relay Commemorative Book" at the release of the book today (July 25, San Francisco time).
The "San Francisco Torch Relay Commemorative Book", a 104-page photo book, was compiled by the local Chinese community commemorating the San Francisco leg of the Olympics Torch Relay.
"We are glad to share the Olympic spirit here in San Francisco," said Ms Cheung, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco.
"Hong Kong is proud to be a co-host city of the Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events. The Olympic Village will officially open on July 26 when the first batch of horses and athletes will arrive in Hong Kong. To further enhance community participation, free Olympic Live Sites will be set up in Victoria Park and Sha Tin Park to feature live broadcasts of the opening and closing ceremonies as well as the Games."
"Co-hosting the Olympics and Paralympics is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we are confident of achieving our goal of staging the best ever Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Events," Ms Cheung said.
Inviting Bay Area audience to learn more about Hong Kong and her preparedness for the Olympic Equestrian Events, Ms Cheung said, "For those who cannot make it to Hong Kong this summer, don't miss the 'Hong Kong Reins', a special 30-minute TV program on Hong Kong as an Olympic co-host city and Asia's World City, which will be broadcast on NBC Bay Area in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose on August 8, at 7pm, prior to airing of the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Olympics."
"Alternatively, you can join NBC's Opening Ceremony celebrations at St James Park, San Jose. The special program on Hong Kong will be aired at the celebrations," she concluded.
