Applications received from live poultry retailers for buyout payments

In response to press enquiries, a spokesman for the Food and
Environmental Hygiene Department said that as at 8pm today (July 24), a total of 339 (72.4%) live poultry retailers, comprising 178 market tenants and 161 Fresh Provision Shop (FPS) licensees, applied to permanently surrender the permission to sell live poultry to receive relevant ex-gratia payments.
At present there are 468 eligible applicants (260 market stall tenants and 208 FPS licensees).
