New Government yearbook has a 10th anniversary twist (with photos)
***********************************************************

The Government's latest yearbook - "Hong Kong 2007" - was launched at the Hong Kong Book Fair today (July 23).

It has a number of special features to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The 2007 yearbook is the first since the publication began in 1946 to use a posterisation of Hong Kong's iconic harbour and skyline. The gold-coloured graphic treatment symbolises the vitality of a unique society.

The yearbook also contains a special 10th anniversary souvenir pictorial review inserted into the back cover.

This booklet - "Hong Kong x 10" - features photos from the 10 yearbooks published since reunification in 1997 and takes readers on a nostalgic journey through a decade of developments in Asia's world city.

The book also comes with a distinctive bright pink sash advertising the "Hong Kong x 10" booklet.

As with previous editions, the content of the yearbook provides an in-depth and factual account of government policy and activities, and an overview of Hong Kong life and developments in 2007.

The yearbook is an invaluable and long-standing reference source, containing useful information of record.

The 21 chapters cover a wide range of subjects ranging from the economy to commerce, industry, infrastructural development, education, transport and culture.

"Hong Kong 2007" has 12 colour sections with more than 120 photographs highlighting the festivities and special events of the 10th anniversary, economic vitality, biodiversity and the city's cosmopolitan society.

The photo sections also cover Hong Kong's Olympic preparations, elections held during the year, tourism, creative industries and sporting endeavours.

English and Chinese editions of the yearbook are now available at the Information Services Department (ISD) booth at the Hong Kong Book Fair.

Those who purchase a book at the ISD booth at the Book Fair will receive 25% off the cover price of $170.

More than 100 other government publications are also available for sale at the ISD booth.

"Hong Kong 2007" and other government publications can also be purchased from ISD's Publications Sales Unit, Room 402, 4th floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Central.
