The Buildings Department approved 33 building plans in June - 16 on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.
Of the approved plans, 11 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, 11 were for commercial developments, five were for factory and industrial developments and six were for community services developments.
In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 16 building projects that, when completed, will provide 141,456 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,882 units, and 105,369 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 10 building projects.
The department also issued eight occupation permits - one on Hong Kong Island, one in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.
Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor areas for domestic use were 57,008 square metres, involving 184 units, and 89,066 square metres for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of the new buildings completed in June totalled about $1.9 billion.
In addition, 12 demolition consents involving 12 building structures were issued.
The department received 2,198 complaints against unauthorised building works in June, and issued 2,632 removal orders on unauthorised works.
