"Living in Harmony" exhibition opens tomorrow at HKCEC

The following is issued on behalf of the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education:

    Members of the public are invited to an exhibition on civic education entitled "Living in Harmony" to be held at the Hong Kong Book Fair 2008 (Booth 5L18, Hall 5) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from tomorrow (July 23) to July 29.

    The exhibition is jointly organised by the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education (CPCE) and the Home Affairs Bureau (HAB).  The exhibition's slogan is "Be Positive, Be United, Be Happy in Great Harmony".

    The exhibition will feature publicity materials on the topical themes of the CPCE as well as a wide range of teaching materials and publications on civic education produced by the CPCE, the Education Bureau and the Independent Commission Against Corruption.  An interactive games booth will be set up and souvenirs will be distributed. 

    To tie in with the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, a "Booklet on Olympism and Paralympic Movement" produced by the HAB, the CPCE and the Commission on Youth will be distributed to enhance public understanding of Olympism and the Paralympic movement, and to strengthen national education.

    A ceremony launching the exhibition will be held tomorrow at 1pm on the stage of Hall 5. Officiating guests are: the Chairman of the CPCE, Dr Pang King Chee; the Convenor of the CPCE Publicity Sub-committee, Ms Lisa Lau; the Convenor of the CPCE Basic Law Promotion Working Group, Mr Poon Chun-yuen; CPCE members, Ms Lam Pui-tak, Ms Yuen Lan-fong and Mr Stephen Yip Chun-nam; Principal Assistant Secretary for Home Affairs, Ms Christine Chow; artiste Ms Candy Law, and "Warrior of Regeneration" Mr Ho Kwok-yin.
