The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, leading a 100-strong delegation of Hong Kong business leaders, today (July 19) started an eight-day visit to Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning.
During the visit, the delegation will explore business opportunities between Hong Kong and the three northeast provinces.
Their first stop is Harbin, where they held a meeting with senior officials of Heilongjiang Provincial Government soon after arrival and then attended a welcome dinner.
The delegation comprises leaders from a wide spectrum of the business community, such as manufacturing, financial services, infrastructure, real estate, logistics, tourism, IT, and professional services.
Accompanying Mr Tsang on the visit are Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Commerce, Industry and Tourism) Miss Yvonne Choi, Private Secretary to the Chief Executive Mr Kenneth Mak, Director of the Beijing Office of the HKSAR Government Mr Thomas Tso and Assistant Director (Media) Mr Vic Yau.
