The Government today (July 18) announced the re-appointment of four members to the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority. The appointment details are as follows:
- Mr Chen Chung-nin, Chairman, Pacific Falcon Investment Group Limited
- Mr Ng Hak-kim, Chairman, Human Capital Management Consulting Ltd
- Ms Ng Ka-yee, Principal, Hennessy Road Government Primary AM School
- Ms Shek Yuk-yu, Principal, Ying Wa Girls' School
Their new term will last for three years from September 1, 2008, until August 31, 2011.
A spokesman for the Education Bureau (EDB) said the authority was a strategic partner of EDB in the implementation of education reforms. The distinguished members from the education sector and other professions will enrich the expertise of the authority.
The authority is a statutory body established under the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority Ordinance to conduct public examinations and assessment, and other examinations approved by the Chief Executive. The composition of the authority is stipulated in Schedule 2 to the ordinance. Members of the authority include school principals, teachers, representatives of tertiary institutions, a person who represents interests of parents, and persons experienced in commerce, industry or a profession.
