Tuen Mun restaurant ordered to suspend business
***********************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Tuen Mun to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant, at Shop I, ground floor, Tuen Mun Fa Yuen, Tsing Hoi Circuit, Tuen Mun Town Lot 153, was ordered to suspend business from today (July 14) to July 27, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

"In March and April this year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the premises.

"A total fine of $2,800 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.

He said the restaurant also had two convictions in August and October last year for unauthorised extension of food business and unauthorised alteration of premises respectively.

"A total fine of $3,500 was levied and 15 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from December 11 to 17 last year," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
