Groupe Dˆmmons et Merveilles from France will bring Hong Kong audiences a mask theatre "Les Masques!!!" this summer. By using cute and fantastic masks and fast changes of characters, they conjure up an unusual but funny theatrical world, with a series of farcical yet heartwarming skits that make people of all ages laugh and cry.
Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, mask theatre "Les Masques!!!" is part of this summer's "International Arts Carnival". It will be staged at 7.30pm from July 24 to 26, and 3pm on July 26 at the Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre Theatre; and also at 7.30pm on July 27 at the Yuen Long Theatre Auditorium.
Combining creative clowning with scenes from daily life, the trio turns everyday events into the unexpected. They put on fantastic costumes and disguises, move and clown to original music, and lead everybody into a kaleidoscopic world of wonders that lifts the heart.
"Les Masques!!!" is full of mischief. It showcases a delightful gallery of young and old characters within a lively, fluid set. One moment they cuddle like tender lovers, the next they turn into pouting kids pulling a prank on their elderly grandma...It is an unforgettable show for the entire family.
