CE leads business delegation to northeast provinces

    The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will lead a 100-strong delegation of local business leaders to visit Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning from July 19 to 26 to promote co-operation and explore business opportunities between Hong Kong and the three northeast provinces.

    The delegation comprises leaders from a wide spectrum of the business community, such as manufacturing, financial services, infrastructure, real estate, logistics, tourism, IT, and professional services. During the eight-day trip, Mr Tsang and the delegation will visit four major cities: Harbin, Changchun, Shenyang and Dalian. Meetings with provincial leaders and visits to key local enterprises aside, the delegation will take part in business co-operation symposiums on July 21, 23 and 24 in Harbin, Changchun, and Shenyang respectively.

    Accompanying Mr Tsang on the visit will be the Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Commerce, Industry & Tourism), Miss Yvonne Choi; the Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Mr Kenneth Mak; the Director of the Beijing Office of the HKSAR Government, Mr Thomas Tso; and the Assistant Director (Media), Mr Vic Yau.

    During Mr Tsang's absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, will be the acting Chief Executive.
