************************************************************

Vice-President Xi Jinping today (July 7) visited two households in Kowloon to get a better understanding of the livelihood issues of the average Hong Kong family.

Accompanied by Chief Executive Mr Donald Tsang, he first visited the Wong family in Royal Peninsula, Hung Hom. Mr Wong Chi-yung, in his 30s, works in an information technology company. His wife is a clerical officer and they have a five-year-old son.

The Vice-President spent about 15 minutes there, chatting with family members about their daily life, family expenses, property price and work situation.

Before departure, he presented them with an Olympic souvenir display and a tea-set.

In return, the family presented a drawing to the Vice-President for a successful Beijing Olympic Games and also a drawing to the Chief Executive to wish Hong Kong success in organising the equestrian events.

The Vice-President then left to visit another family in Ho Man Tin.
