Small hiccup at Sha Tin Equestrian Events venue
***********************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Equestrian Events (Hong Kong) of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad Company Limited:

Two aluminum-foil air-conditioning ducts fell out of the false ceiling in which they were embedded in the Press Position inside the Press Conference Room of the Sha Tin Equestrian Events venue today (July 6).

A press briefing was being held there for Vice-President Xi Jinping who was visiting the Hong Kong equestrian venues.

It is believed that someone might have accidentally knocked on the partitions in the Press Conference Room, thus dislodging the support ceiling panel concealing the air-conditioning ducts which allow air-conditioning to pass through. The hoses fell out of a false ceiling panel.

A spokesman for the Equestrian Company said, "The ducts are embedded in the false ceiling of the Press Conference Room which serves as a temporary structure for the Equestrian Events.

"They would have been kept intact under normal usage.

"The incident was a small hiccup.

"The fallen ducts would be easily fixed by the contractors (who arrived at the scene soon afterwards) as soon as possible, to ensure that similar incidents would not recur.

"There is no structural danger to the permanent structure."
