The sensational All-American Boys Chorus makes a welcome return to Hong Kong this summer, six years after the group's previous visit. People are reminded to make reservations for tickets as they are almost sold out.
With their rich harmonies, the internationally acclaimed vocalists will take concert-goers on an enchanting musical journey.
Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the choral concert by the All American Boys Chorus is part of the summer spectacular "International Arts Carnival". It will be staged at 7.30pm on July 30 at the Sha Tin Town Hall Auditorium.
The chorus comprises a collection of versatile young singers: classical, contemporary, jazz, Disney and Broadway musicals, country music, Cowboy and Western Swing, and even Chinese folk tunes are all part of an extensive repertoire.
The Orange County Register appraised: "They are, quite simply, wonderful!" With its inspiring display of youthful energy and musical talent, this amazing choral concert should not be missed.
Established in 1970, the All-American Boys Chorus has performed all over the world, delighting in its honorary role as a US music ambassador. Its members are aged between 8 and 15 years. They are recruited through a rigorous audition and undergo further training in order to create the unforgettable sounds of the chorus.
The chorus has completed more than three decades of remarkable growth and significant achievements. Acclaimed for its musical excellence, the All-American Boys Chorus has been lauded for instilling and fostering leadership skills and characteristics in its current membership of 130 boys and nearly 1,000 alumni. Community outreach performances in schools have reached more than 25,000 children.
Tickets priced at $100, $160 and $220 are available at URBTIX outlets. Half-price tickets are available for full-time students, senior citizens, people with disabilities and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients. Package discounts of up to 15% are available for full-price performing arts programmes/films of the festival.
