The Government today (June 30) announced the membership of the Advisory Committee on Admission of Quality Migrants and Professionals. Members are appointed by the Chief Executive for a two-year term from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2010.
The advisory committee advises the Director of Immigration on entry applications received under the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme and Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals.
Mr Ko Chi-sum, and Professor Leung Mee-lee are two new members appointed to the advisory committee. While Mr Cheung Hok-ming, will retire, the incumbent chairman, Mr Henry Fan Hung-ling, and other serving members have been re-appointed. The 17 non-official members with effect from July 1, are (in alphabetical order):

Ex-official members on the Committee are representatives from the Labour and Welfare Bureau, Security Bureau and Labour Department.
"We are very grateful to the chairman, the re-appointed and retiring members for their past service on the advisory committee, and have benefited greatly from their wise counsel. We also look forward to the valuable advice from the new members," a government spokesman said.
