The Convenor of the Non-official Members of the Executive Council, Mr Leung Chun-ying, tonight (June 24) issued the following statement on the resignation of Mr Frederick Ma, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development:
"I and other non-official Members regret to hear that Mr Frederick Ma has resigned from his position due to health reasons. As an ExCo official Member for the past six years, Mr Ma worked very closely with other Members in assisting the Chief Executive in policy-making, and has made great contributions to Hong Kong's economic development, especially in the areas of financial and monetary services and tourism. We wish him a full recovery soon."
