Equestrian volunteer Nancy Tang passes away
*******************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Equestrian Events (Hong Kong) of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad Company Limited (Equestrian Company):

The Equestrian Company today (June 23), expressed deep sorrow at the death of one of its finest volunteers, Miss Nancy Tang Yuk-fun. Miss Tang, 24, was injured in a road accident near Fo Tan MTR station on Saturday (June 21) on her way to a volunteer training programme at the nearby Olympic venue. She was admitted to the Prince of Wales Hospital, but passed away at 8.25pm today.

The Chief Executive Office of The Equestrian Company, Mr Lam Woon-Kwong, offered his condolences to Miss Tang's parents and family on behalf of the Company and her many volunteer colleagues. He said Miss Tang was an exceptional young woman who had outstanding leadership qualities. She was a team leader in the Media Services division during the Good Luck Beijing 10th Anniversary Cup Equestrian Event last August and immediately signed up for the Equestrian Events of the Beijing 2008 Olympics. She was again assigned a team leader's role.

"Nancy was well liked by her colleagues and fellow volunteers and was always willing to help out with any task assigned to her. With her charming personality, she was totally undaunted by the responsibilities of her job. She will be sadly missed," said Mr Lam.
